This character traveled alone for quite a long time. Went trough days of no food and no water. Walked in desert lands where sight cannot distract itself and voice has no need to be used. Sounds are constantly low and touch is bound to turn in. Yet he is smiling. Yes he reached the "desert deep acceptance".

Turned out that the best strategy was going back to seed state, the ultimate strategy to pursue a new beginning, new pure life, and "dreaming the element water".

These characters are by accident lost and sad. Life spiral slowed down by an electricity blackout. They were playing all day on a shiny painted carousel, eating tons of sweets, eyes caught all around by sparkling lights and funny childish sounds. No more horses to ride, now is time to walk with pride. No more movement of spin, now is time to go straight and win. No more looking around, now it's time to look within. Now is ok, but still "missing the element circus".

This character is attending a private high school of rules. She is an intelligent and well-trained school girl. What is not fitting the perfect designed set decor of the classroom is her dress. She decided to keep wearing the primary school uniform until the last exam. In her outfit is preserved the magic, the purity, and the freedom. Even if this choice brought her derision and refusal, she had the best school grades in school of rules and in "school of life exam".

Trench is set in a digitally simulated space resembling an abstracted oceanic environment not unlike the Mariana Trench. While diving deeper within the simulation, the participant approach’s various CGI marine-like objects, which will trigger natural and glitched phenomena that alter the digital experience. Fu’s work draws parallels between the physical, virtual, metaphysical, and multi-dimensional, setting the viewer in a liminal space at the threshold of each in what Turner called “a period of scrutiny for central values and axioms.” Within the digital space created by Snow Yunxue Fu, we are offered an encounter to reflect on our response to the simultaneously beautiful and overwhelming artifice of the techno-sublime.
