TITLE_Point_Break_ARTIST_rough_century.near (paulthomas) berlin 2021 this work by rough_century was collected for exhibition in Artist Laith McGregor's project 'Strange Days' for the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art at the Art Gallery of Sotuh Australia 2022: Free State. 
A nod to the bicontinality of the artists and their respective coasts as well as the magical illusions woven from collaboration and a dash of popular culture:

"Although the final scene of the film Point Break is set at Bells Beach (Australia), the scene was not filmed there. Bells Beach is a straight stretch and the beach in the film is a cove with spruce trees atop a hill. The actual location of the film was Indian Beach in Ecola State Park located in Cannon Beach, Oregon in the United States."
rough_century is firmly Berlin but roots, culture and family are constantly echoing to and from the Pacific Northwest / Coast.
